What is Rakeback?
When you sign up with a poker room through Rake Back Bible, you will receive a refund for every $1.00 that you pay in rake. This refund is known as Rake Back. No matter what limits you play, whether you are a professional or just play poker for fun, receiving Rake Back will greatly increase your win-rate, and allow you to make more money.
-
What is rake?
The ‘rake’ is the amount the poker room removes from each pot, as a fee, for hosting/offering a poker cash game. The amount taken from each pot varies by limits, but is generally anywhere from $.50-$5 on average per hand. In poker tournaments, the “rake” is the entry fee for each tournament you play in, for example; a $110 tournament may consist of $100 entry + $10 entry fee. The $100 goes towards the total prizepool, and the $10 entry fee is the “rake” for hosting the tournament.

Why bother with Rakeback deals?
Online poker competition is a lot more fierce nowadays, especially since around 2010. Online cash games can often be full of regulars/grinders and this has an impact on your win rate. Choosing a poker site with a good Rake Back structure could be the difference between you being a loosing player that week or a winning one. Savvy Poker players should take advantage of Rake Back to help boost their ROI.
-
How much could I make?
This depends entirely on the stakes you play, volume, your playing style and the rakeback deal on the site you play. For example; a small stakes regular playing NL Hold’em 6 max tables, of $0.25/$0.50, 30% rakeback deal, playing approximately 1,000 hands per day should expect to earn around $140 per week in rake. You can use our Rakeback Calculator to see how much you could earn. Putting in the volume of hours, and multi-tabling are key in generating as much rakeback as possible.
-
Is Rakeback more important at certain stakes?
Yes, micro, low and mid-stakes benefit the most from Rakeback. Effectively in cash games, the lower the stakes you play, the more you will be affected by the house’s rake. That is why micro-stakes will be the worst affected as virtually every hand you play will be on max rake for that site, 5% usually. The higher the stakes you play the smaller the rake percentage will be as there will be a cap on the rake charged per hand, therefore you need an effective rakeback deal at lower stakes in order to beat your competitors and the house rake.
-
When is Rakeback paid?
Normally it is paid as cash, weekly, directly into your poker account.
-
Do you get Rakeback playing video poker?
No, video poker is different, instead of playing against other people, you play against the house and there is no Rake Back. Video Poker is still readily available to play online at many casino sites and comes with its own strategy.
